Proven Energy produce an award winning range of 4 turbines, which offer green sustainable energy to a broad range of applications. Proven are recognised as an international market leader and are renowned for quality and durability. The key to the success of Proven turbines is their unique blade design, which adapts to the wind, optimising performance and safety at even the strongest wind speeds.

Turbine Features

Reliability

Proven Energy's internationally patented turbines have undergone rigorous testing at sites exposed to extreme conditions. They generate electricity in both the extreme cold of the Arctic Circle and the desert heat of Saudi Arabia.

Turbines in the cold of the Arctic

Proven wind turbines offer reliable electricity generation for a broad range of customers and sectors including: telecommunications (Orange, BT); retail (Sainsbury's); utilities (Network Rail); oil companies (BP, Shell) as well as individual households and local authorities.

Design and Performance

Proven's patented Flexible Blade System enables the turbines to generate electricity efficiently over a range of wind speeds. Innovative design coupled with the latest techniques in composite technology allow the blades to flex and bend. As the wind speed increases, the blades twist to reduce their aerodynamic efficiency, allowing Proven wind turbines to operate in the fiercest of storms. Should there be a disconnection of load from the turbine, the blades will also regulate their speed, thus preventing damage.

Proven's patented blade design

Low Noise and Low Maintenence

The Proven range of turbines are designed to minimise noise and maintenence. They use a direct drive generator, which operates without a gearbox. The generator load is continually monitored to keep the blades rotating at a low speed, whilst optimising power output. Low blade tip speed translates to low sound levels, the net result being that noise from the turbine is reduced to a swish of the blades turning in the wind. In most cases this is virtually unnoticable compared to background sound.

User Friendly

Proven controllers run the system automatically and display power output. Power connectors and turbine brake are easily accessible at the base of the mast. All turbines are furnished with an easy to follow user guide. We offer aftersales service (which is recommended on an annual basis) to maintain optimum performance from your turbine.

Systems and Applications

All turbines are available in 3 standard systems to suit your individual needs.

1) Grid Connect

The electricity produced is fed directly to your fuse box or distribution board, providing power to your premises. Surplus electricity is exported to the National Grid. Although it is possible to set the turbine up in this way, power cannot be sold to the National Grid in Ireland as yet. To this end we recommend installing a turbine which closely matches your power requirements, so that all electricity produced on site is consumed.

2) Battery Charging

Energy produced by the turbine is stored in a large battery, which coupled with an inverter provides a power supply. This is most beneficial in locations not connected to the National Grid, or at sites requiring a diesel/oil generator. Installing a turbine is this fashion can reduce fuel consumption by up to 95%.

3) Direct Heating

Energy produced by the turbine is directed to hot water tanks, storage heaters or underfloor heating.
